India team set to play Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26
As per a report from PTI news reporter Kushan Sarkar, there is a three-week hiatus between the commencement of the India vs New Zealand series and the conclusion of the India vs South Africa series. Hence, an ample amount of time and leisure for players will be available to play the league.
“Since there is a three week gap between conclusion of SA series (Dec 19) and commencement of NZ ODIs (Jan 11), all national team players have been asked to play at least 2 rounds of #vijayhazaretrophy. So it is not just "Ro-Ko", the rule is same and applicable for everyone,” Kushan Sarkar’s report read, as posted on his X handle.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli have been confirmed to play the prestigious domestic tournament. Kohli takes the field after 15 years as he is set to play for Delhi. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma is also set to represent Mumbai as the team will release the squad after the conclusion of the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy 2025.
With Rohit getting leaner and showing athletic prowess on field with both the bat and while keeping the ropes, the probability of him featuring for Mumbai side is high. Kohli’s Delhi from Elite Group D, will play against Andhra, Gujarat, Saurashtra and Odisha before January 2026.
On the other hand, Mumbai, who are in Elite Group C, will lock horns with Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Goa before the end of the year.
