Sawai Mansingh Ignored Contrary to Earlier Reports
A few days ago, reports suggested that the BCCI had shortlisted eight venues—Jaipur, Mohali, Indore, Rajkot, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, and Nagpur—for the upcoming India vs New Zealand series.
However, in the tentative schedule, the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur is missing. Not only Jaipur, but the PCA Stadium in Mohali—which has not hosted an international match for a long time—has also been left out, with Visakhapatnam and Ranchi reportedly added to the list. Notably, Ranchi will host the second T20I, while Visakhapatnam has been allotted the fourth T20I.
BCCI to Soon Make Announcement Public
While there is no official update at this time, the BCCI is expected to make the schedule public soon, as the Apex Council meeting has concluded. The upcoming India vs New Zealand T20I series will also serve as preparation for the T20 World Cup 2026, which India and Sri Lanka will co-host next year.
Recently, Gaurav Gupta from The Times of India reported that the BCCI might release a press statement regarding the discussed agendas on the night of June 14.
