Mumbai zealots Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan went berserk against Haryana bowlers in Pune in their Super League Group B match of the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy season. Chasing a steep target of 235, Jaiswal tonked a 50-ball 101 while Sarfaraz smeared 64 runs from just 25 deliveries at a breakneck strike rate of 256.

Their combined explosive pyrotechnics helped Mumbai gun down Haryana’s total with 15 balls and four wickets to spare as the defending champions march forward in the tournament.

Jaiswal says Sarfaraz Khan and him are like “brothers” on the field

Speaking after the match and as shared by BCCI Domestic on social media, Sarfaraz Khan and Yashasvi Jaiswal laughingly revealed that the two cricketers did not even caution each other to go slow out in the middle because of the daunting nature of their task.

Sarfaraz Khan said:

“We didn’t even think of telling each other to slow down (both laugh).”

Yashasvi Jaiswal responded:

“The moment he came to the crease, I told him to go big because we have no other option.

Sarfaraz Khan congratulated young Jaiswal, and acknowledged his prolific recent form which also included a match-winning ODI century against South Africa. Praising the blistering opener, he said:

“You just hit an ODI century against South Africa, now again for Mumbai, how are you feeling?”

Yashasvi Jaiswal also praised Sarfaraz Khan, and claimed that the two enjoy each other’s company on the field and often treat themselves as “brothers”. He stated:

“I am very happy that I got to win it for Mumbai. I wanted to play with the intent of winning and finishing the game. The way you batted with me, and the way we took the game, it was fun and I enjoyed it a lot. The way you batted was amazing. We enjoy each other’s cricket and company. We treat each other as brothers in the ground, as you have seen we always have fun and talk while playing.”
