Big Bash 2025-26 League is under full swing as jibes and swipes flared on the field, with Shaheen Afridi already sending a spicy warning to his national side teammate Mohammad Rizwan, who is currently a foe for him in the Brisbane Heat vs Melbourne Renegades clash on December 15.

Shaheen Afridi represents Heat, while Mohammad Rizwan will keep wicket for Melbourne Renegades in the match.

Afridi threatens Rizwan ahead of Heat vs Renegades clash

Ahead of the clash, during a customary meet with the players on the Fox Cricket show, the host told Afridi that Mohammad Rizwan warned the 25-year-old that he would hit him out of the park, to which Shaheen Afridi bluntly replied, “I will not allow him to do that,” and ended his sentence with a laugh.

Though the duo play for the national side, Mohammad Rizwan earlier had a small conflict with Shaheen Afridi during the Champions Trophy 2025. Notably, Rizwan scolded Afridi for a loose delivery to Tom Latham after he parked it for a boundary.

Rizwan was unhappy with the development and scolded Afridi from behind the wickets. However, these exchanges on field are part and parcel of the game and team bonding, since they share a warm bond between each other.

It is also worth mentioning that Shaheen Afridi replaced Mohammad Rizwan in the national side as the ODI captain with Afridi also disclosing the fact that he took the decision to take up the role of a captain after discussing it with Rizwan.

Nevertheless, the duo will now be seen firing at each other at Simonds Stadium Geelong. As the teams play their first match of the season, Shaheen Afridi will be seen swinging the new ball lethally against Renegades batters, especially targeting Rizwan.
