There have been plenty of talks around India’s squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series at home for a while. A big question is whether Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be included in the competition, and how KL Rahul, who recently re-emerged as one of the best in the world again, will fit in.

As T20 World Cup 2024 is near the corner, the squad for Afghanistan series will indicate how the BCCI are planning their roster for the mega event. It has now been revealed how the Indian think-tank planned to move forward with its future plans, according to Sports Tak.

Despite the fact that both Rohit and Virat told the BCCI that they want to be part of the squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, the board is unlikely to keep Kohli in the side. Instead, they will go with Rohit as a skipper, with Rahul to keep behind the stumps and play as a middle-order batsman. That means Suryakumar Yadav, the No. 1-ranked T20I batsman in the world, is expected to play as No. 3.

However, nothing has been confirmed yet from the BCCI’s end. The squad announcement, of course, will provide a pretty good idea of their vision, and billions of fans are eagerly anticipating it.
