'Shouldn’t Complain' - Irfan Pathan Slams Criticism Of Indian Pitches After Rohit Outburst

Irfan Pathan took an aim off the shoulders of the Indian team's memorable Test win on a treacherous surface in Cape Town at overseas media and opposition players and suggested them to improve their skillset rather than complaining about Indian pitches.

The former speedster used Rohit Sharma & company's remarkable comeback victory at Newlands, which levelled the two-match series in South Africa, to insist it's high time double standards are shed and teams focus on uplifting their game when they travel to India for Test matches.

Current and former India players seem to have developed a united stance against the attitude displayed by overseas teams and their supportive journalists, who tend to decry turning pitches used in India but ignore the extensively challenging tracks encountered by the Asian giants when they travel abroad to England, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.

Pathan Slams Double Standards On Indian Tracks

Pathan joined in the bandwagon and urged those hailing from the SENA countries to leave the existing attitude and stop putting an ethical question mark on India dishing out turning pitches if they can't retain the same stance when India confront overly challenging decks on foreign trips.

A shocking 33 wickets were lost inside 103 overs and four sessions in which the Cape Town Test got completed, among the earliest ever finish to a Test match, after the ground curator left excess grass and indentations for the Proteas seamers to exploit.

As it happened, outstanding spells from Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah in combination with valiant contributions from Rohit, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill helped India turn the tables on the hosts, who fell in the very hole they had dug for the tourists.

Pathan, who was watching the Test match closely as a Hindi commentator for Star Sports in Cape Town, wrote a simple tweet, suggesting overseas teams to up their skill and not complaint about Indian pitches, just like the Indian team doesn't when it steps in the SENA lands.

"When overseas cricketers come to India on turning pitches they shouldn’t complain. It’s a skill they need to improve," Pathan tweeted.
