Shubman Gill, fondly known as the Prince of Indian Cricket, had a disastrous tour in South Africa in both T20Is and Tests. The stylish batter fell for 0 and 8 in the T20Is and then made 2 and 26 in the first Test. And then, to finish things off miserably, he made 36 and 10 in Cape Town.

Chasing a paltry 79-run target, Gill had a great chance to take India home on Thursday (January 4). However, he had no answer to Kagiso Rabada during the 9th over of the innings on a surface in which batters struggled thoroughly to stay in the middle.

It was a length delivery by Rabada, which remained a tad low. Gill, despite knowing Cape Town is known for variable bounce, did not expect that at all, as the ball went on to hit the middle stump to knock him over.

However, India did not make any mistakes while chasing a small target, as Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer took them past the finishing line with seven wickets to spare. Rohit, who had a horrible record in South Africa, remained unbeaten on 17*, while Shreyas only hit the match-winning boundary.
