No Root, Bairstow; Buttler To Lead As England Announce Squad For Australia Series

On Monday, August 26, England Cricket dropped the ODI and T20I squad for the upcoming home series against Australia starting from September 11-29. 

Jos Buttler, who was doubtful for the upcoming series because of an injury he sustained before The Hundred, will lead the Three Lions in both ODIs and T20Is. 

Meanwhile, Jofra Archer, Phil Salt, Will Jacks, Adil Rashid and Liam Livingstone are notable names in the T2OI squad, while Harry Brook and Gus Atkinson will headline the ODI squad.

One of the most notable names missing from the squad are of  Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow, who have performed well in the fifty-over format.

5 Uncapped Stars Named In Squad For Australia Series

Talking about the T20I squad, then the ECB has named Five uncapped players in the 15-member squad.  Jordan Cox,  Jacob Bethell, Dan Mousley,  Josh Hull, and John Turner are the players who would look to make their international debut.

Talking about Josh Hull, the 6 feet 7 inches tall bowler also earned his red-ball call-up for England as he has been announced as replacement for injured Mark Wood, who sustained a thigh injury during day 3 of the first Test against Sri Lanka.
