KL Rahul Meets LSG Owner Sanjiv Goenka Amid Rumours Of Joining RCB

In a big development around KL Rahul's IPL future, the Lucknow Super Giants' skipper, on Monday, August 26, met LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka at the latter's residence in Kolkata. 

It is the first formal meeting between the two since their controversial conversation during IPL 2024 when Sanjiv Goenka scolded KL Rahul on the field over an embarrassing defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad when Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma wreaked havoc against LSG.

Cricbuzz reported about the meeting between KL Rahul and the LSG owner. The meeting, held at Goenka's office on Judges Court Road, Alipore, lasted approximately one hour. The agenda for the meeting was not disclosed, but it is reported that the two talked about Rahul's LSG future and possible team combinations ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction.

Notably, there were rumours that KL Rahul might look to part ways with Lucknow and move to RCB for IPL 2025. But there are no updates on this front. 

BCCI To Take A Call On Mega-Auction

All ten teams in IPL are in a chaos over their retentions for the coming season as the board is yet to provide clarity over the maximum player retentions allowed for IPL 2025. 

The teams are divided on this matter, as a section of owners want maximum retention so that their team does not get disrupted, while the other half are rooting for a mega-auction.
