Jos Buttler, the current England white-ball skipper has been ruled out of The Hundred 2024 due to the calf injury he sustained while training for the competition. He was expected to lead Manchester Originals in this Hundred edition, but could not play initial three games due to the same injury, and now has been ruled out of the entire tournament.

He is expected to be fit for the the T20I series against Australia though, which will start on 11th of September. He was last seen leading England in the T20 World Cup 2024, after which he opted for a short break, but suffered an unexpected injury setback when he tried to return back to the action.

Jos Buttler To Continue Leading England

After the T20 World Cup, there were rumours too that Buttler would be removed as England's white-ball captain but all of that have been put to rest now, and he will continue to lead England in ODIs and T20Is. England do have a new coach though with Marcus Trescothick appointed as an interim head coach in place of Matthew Motts who was England's coach from May 2022 till T20 World Cup 2024

As far as Manchester Originals are concerned, they have lost all of their three matches so far, and need to get their house in order before it all gets too late for them.
