It is an era of T20 Leagues, and there are plenty of state leagues popping up in the super power of world cricket - India. The inaugural edition of Delhi Premier League is currently underway, and now the first edition of Uttarakhand Premier League has also been announced by the state board and it will be held from September 15 to 22.

There will be five men's teams and three women's teams in the league and total of 16 matches will be played with all games to be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun.

Akash Madhwal, Aditya Tare, Swapnil Singh To Feature In The League

The Player Draft will be held on September 1, and all the eight teams which include men and women teams would have options to choose from nine marquee players. There are six men's marquee players which includes Mumbai Indians star Akash Madhwal, RCB's all-rounder Swapnil Singh and the veteran Mumbai cricketer Aditya Tare. 

The other three are Rajan Kumar, Deepak Dhapola and Kunal Chandela, while the three marquee women cricketers are Ekta Bisht, Punam Raut and Mansi Joshi.

The secretary of Cricket Association of Uttarakhand has expressed her happiness in the kind of response they have got for the idea of conducting the league, and has expressed confidence in unearthing more talent from Uttarakhand.

"We are delighted with the response we have received from various stakeholders since the idea of conducting the Uttarakhand Premier League came about."
