Deandra Dottin roared back into form for the Trinbago Knight Riders by guiding them to a thrilling win over Guyana Amazon Warriors in match number four of the ongoing WCPL 2024 season. Opening the innings for the Knight Riders, the seasoned all-rounder smacked 53 runs from just 38 deliveries with six boundaries and three huge sixes.

Dottin launched the first of those sixes in just the second over of the match by pulling Sheneta Grimmond over forward square leg at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad.

Opening the innings with Harshitha Samarawickrama, Trinbago Knight Riders captain Deandra Dottin launched Amazon Warriors spinner Sheneta Grimmond for a huge six towards her leg side in just the second over of the match.

Dottin’s soaring hit cleared the outstretched forward square leg fielder by a few inches before the ball landed outside the boundary line.

Deandra Dottin smacked two more sixes in the innings, and went on to list 53 elegant runs from just 38 deliveries. She also shared a 66-run opening partnership with Samarawickrama to set up TKR’s competitive total of 128-8 on a low-scoring Trinidad surface.

Later in the match, some tight bowling from TKR bowlers Zaida James, Jannillea Glasgow and Shikha Pandey enforced a thrilling tie during the Amazon Warriors run-chase.

Dottin came to the fore once again in the resultant Super Over by scoring 13* runs from just four deliveries for her team. Jess Jonassen dismissed both Warriors batters as the Trinbago Knight Riders ended up registering their opening points of the WCPL 2024 season.
