Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah holds a commendable fanbase, both inwards and across the borders.

The cricketer, who bagged the ‘Player of the Match’ awards in India’s last two World Cup fixtures (2023 ODI World Cup and 2024 T20 World Cup) against arch-rivals Pakistan, even seems to have a heavy contingent of fans in the cricket-crazy nation as evidenced by a recent trending social media video.

On July 15, a video surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) where a Pakistani kid can be seen imitating Jasprit Bumrah’s unorthodox bowling action to the dot during a friendly cricket match among the hills.

The young kid even seems to have won over the great Wasim Akram, considering the former Pakistan captain recently expressed his reaction on the micro-blogging site.

In a video uploaded on July 15 on social media, a young kid from Pakistan can be seen imitating the bowling action of Jasprit Bumrah while playing a friendly game of cricket with his friends. The kid in contention even managed to topple the batter a couple of times in the footage.

Shortly after the video went viral, former Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram took to X and admired the kid’s “control” and for bowling “exactly” like the “great Jasprit Bumrah”.

Jasprit Bumrah recently starred in Team India’s historic win over South Africa in the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup in Barbados on June 29.

The speedster bagged match-winning figures of 2-18 from his four overs as the Indian team lifted the coveted T20 battle to end their decade-long ICC trophy drought.

As of now, Bumrah has reportedly been rested from India’s upcoming white-ball tour of Sri Lanka, and will be expected to return to the international circuit within the next few months.
