In a recent podcast, former India leg-spinner Amit Mishra stirred up the cricketing world with his fact-spitting nature. Mishra, who currently plays for Lucknow SuperGiants, firmly believes that Chennai Super Kings skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad is a better player than Shubman Gill.

Gill, who recently led the team to victory in Zimbabwe, has sparked a polarised response from the masses. While some laud his stint as a skipper, others argue that he lacks the essential qualities of a 'selfless' captain.

Jumping on the wagon of criticisers, Amit Mishra spit fire as he bashed numerous cricketers, one of which was the young Indian opener.

In his unfiltered Podcast with Shubhankar Mishra, while discussing the youngsters and their performances, Amit said that Gaikwad is a better player than Gill simply because he has delivered in various situations, especially when the game demands it.

In another video, Mishra also said Gill does not know how to captain a team and lacks the adequate knowledge and skill for it.

"I wouldn't [make him the captain], I saw him captaining in IPL. He doesn't know how to captain a team. He has no idea and has never led a side in his life," said Mishra.

For those who might be unaware Amit Mishra represented India from 2003 to 2017. During this, he represented India on 68 occasions and scalped 156 wickets across formats.
