On Saturday, September 7, India celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi. The devotees welcomed Lord Ganesha into their homes to begin the 10-day festivities. Meanwhile, the cricketing fraternity took to social media platforms to extend their wishes. 

In the latest events, Bangladesh's star batter, Litton Das, too welcomed Lord Ganesha at his residence and held a Ganesh puja. Das shared pictures from the celebration on his Twitter and Instagram. 

 "May Lord Ganesha bestow you with power, destroy your sorrows, and enhance happiness in your life. Happy Ganesh Chaturthi".



Litton Das In The News During Violence In Bangladesh

Ahead of the Pakistan series, Bangladesh experienced extreme violence as the protestors turned violent and ousted then-PM Sheikh Hasina. There were reports that the protesters burnt Litton Das' home, but those turned out to be false, and it was actually Mashrafe Mortaza's house that was put on fire.

Litton Das' shines with the bat in Pakistan Tests

The right-handed batter recently played against Pakistan at Rawalpindi, where he slammed a crucial knock in the second Test to snatch victory out of the jaws of defeat. 

In the second Test, Das scored a century and won the player of the match award for his 138-run innings. Pakistan, batting first, scored 274 runs. In reply, Bangladesh lost 6 wickets for 26 runs. However, Litton Das' innings helped the Tigers score 262 runs. 

In reply, Pakistan tumbled for 172 runs. Eventually, Bangladesh chased down the target with six wickets in hand.  It was a historic series win for Bangladesh as they whitewashed Pakistan for the first time in Test cricket and also registered their first-ever series win against the Shan Masood-led side.
