Pakistan will face England for a three-match Test series at home starting on October 7 at the Multan Cricket Stadium. The Shan Masood-led side are looking for redemption as they are yet to win a single red-ball match in 2024.

Talking about Shan Masood, he has been under the scanner for a long time as he is yet to win a single match as Pakistan red-ball captain. Masood took on the charge before the Australia Test series away from home. Against the Aussies, Pakistan lost three Tests and also suffered two defeats at home against Bangladesh.

Reporter Asks Masood To Leave Captaincy

There were doubts over Shan Masood's future as Pakistan skipper, but during the recently concluded PCB's connection camp, he was assured of security as captain in red-ball cricket.

In the latest events, during the press conference ahead of the England series, Shan Masood interacted with the reporters, where one of the media personnel got blunt and asked Masood whether he doesn't  feel like quitting captaincy after the recent failures in the Test series.

Masood was left clueless by that question and did not respond to it. Here is how the conversation went.

Reporter: Shan Abhi aapne bola ki jab tak voh mauka de rahe hai toh aap avail karenge. Par kya kabhi khud se khuddari nahi aati ki haar gaye,  performance nahi ho rahi, toh chhod k chale jaaye. (Shan you just said that till PCB is giving you chances, you will avail it. But doesn't it come from within that you have suffered defeats, performance is not there, so just leave the captaincy?
