In a significant development, ICC has announced nominees for the player of the month for November today (December 5). This nominees feature three standout performers who have made significant contributions to their respective teams across formats. Jasprit Bumrah, Haris Rauf and Marco Jansen have each delivered exceptional performances and has been included as the nominees for this month for their significant performance.
Jasprit Bumrah (India)
From India, Jasprit Bumrah ahs been named as the nominee Jasprit as he has delivered sensational performance in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In the first Test, Bumrah led from the front with and delivered remarkable performance.
In the first Test, India was dismissed for a modest total of 150 in the first innings. Bumrah came to rescue and took early to destroy Australia’s top order. He claimed 5/30 in the first innings, including three wickets in the opening seven overs, that reduced the hosts to a paltry 104.
In the fourth innings, defending a mammoth total of 534, Bumrah’s early breakthroughs and his composed bowling ensured India sealed the game. He claimed three more wickets to finish with match figures of 8/72. Bumrah’s brilliance, particularly in the crucial match was a key factor in India’s 295-run victory, and for his exceptional performance he has been nominated as the player of the month.
Haris Rauf (Pakistan)
Haris Rauf was at the center of his team’s historic ODI series win in Australia, marking Pakistan’s first such victory in 22 years. The 31-year-old right-arm fast bowler was instrumental in Pakistan’s 2-1 triumph, finishing the series as the top wicket-taker with 10 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 5.00.
Rauf’s performance in the second ODI was especially memorable. With the series tied at 1-1, the pressure was on, but Rauf responded with a brilliant five-wicket haul leading Pakistan to a comprehensive victory.
Rauf's exceptional form extended into the T20I series as well, where he picked up five wickets, including a brilliant four-wicket haul in the second T20I. His consistent contributions has been rightly noticed as he has been nominated by ICC for the player of the month.
Marco Jansen (South Africa)
Marco Jansen’s versatility was on full display in the T20I series against India, where he contributed with both bat and ball. In addition to picking up wickets in the first three T20Is, Jansen showcased his batting prowess with a blistering 17-ball 54 in the third match.
However, Jansen’s most significant contribution came in the Test series against Sri Lanka. In the first Test in Durban, he was virtually unplayable, claiming career-best match figures of 11/86. He proved to be the game-changer for South Africa’s and he was well nominated by ICC for the player of the month.
