349/5 In T20! Baroda Smash Highest-Ever T20 Total Against Sikkim In SMAT

Baroda created history in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) with a record-breaking performance that shattered several T20 milestones. In a must-win match against Sikkim at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Thursday (December 5), Baroda posted an extraordinary total of 349/5 in 20 overs.
It is important to note that, this score surpassed the previous record of 344/4 set by Zimbabwe against Gambia earlier this year.
In Baroda's innings the limelight was Bhanu Pania, who scored 134* off just 51 balls that was decorated by five 4's and 15 sixes . This is now the highest individual score for Baroda in T20 cricket.
Baroda's Record-Breaking Performance vs Sikkim
Talking about the match, Baroda's innings was a display of aggressive, fearless batting from the very beginning. After winning the toss and opting to bat first. Openers Shashwat Rawat and Abhimanyu Singh Rajput took the attack to Sikkim's bowlers right from the start. The duo put on a blistering 92-run partnership in just five overs.
Baroda became the first domestic Indian team outside the IPL to cross the 100-run mark within power play. This milestone was achieved with ease as the team raced to 103/1 in the first six overs.
With their 349/5, Baroda not only achieved the highest-ever T20 total in men’s cricket, but they also outclassed the previous Indian domestic record of 297/6, set by the Indian team against Bangladesh in October. Furthermore, they became only the third team in history to score more than 300 in a T20 innings, following Zimbabwe’s 344/4 against Gambia in 2023 and Nepal’s 314/3 against Mongolia in the same year.
This incredible performance also helped Baroda make history as the first Indian domestic team to cross the 300-run mark.
