Abhishek Sharma, gained much fame in IPL's 2023 and 2024 edition because of his explosive and trustworthy batting. The Amritsar-born batter made his debut with Delhi Capitals in 2018 and was roped in by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2019. 

Staying true to his name in the IPL, Sharma earned the trust of the Kavya Maran co-owned franchise for the 2025 edition too as he was retained for a whopping 14 crore before the mega auction. Sharma really made a name for himself by scoring 484 runs in 16 IPL matches in 2024. This strong performance got him his first call-up to the Indian team in July this year.

Abhishek Sharma however, has not been at his best in India's jersey and would like to prove his worth again in the upcoming IPL season. So, let's rewind and take a look at some of the best knocks Sharma had in his IPL journey so far.

3) 67 Runs vs Delhi Capitals, 2023

In the match against the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023, Abhishek Sharma played a pivotal role with his impressive 67-run knock off just 36 balls, helping SRH secure a commanding victory. 

Partnering with Mayank Agarwal as the opener, Sharma anchored the innings despite early dismissals of Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram. He maintained his composure until the fifth wicket, batting alongside Klaasen before falling victim to DC's Axar Patel in the 12th over.

Sharma's outstanding performance enabled SRH to establish a solid lead over the Delhi Capitals, and the SRH bowlers effectively dismantled DC's batting lineup, resulting in a 9-run win.

2) 75 Runs vs Chennai Super Kings, 2022

In 2022, during the 17th match, at the DY Patil Sports Academy, CSK set a target of 154 runs for SRH. Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja played key roles in pushing CSK to this total in 20 overs. However, SRH comfortably chased down the target in just 17.4 overs, led by an explosive innings from Abhishek Sharma, who scored 75 runs off 50 balls.

Sharma opened the innings with Kane Williamson and together they formed a strong partnership, putting together 89 runs in 74 balls. He then collaborated with Rahul Tripathi to add another 56 runs. Sharma was eventually dismissed by Dwayne Bravo in the 18th over, but by that time, the damage was done as Nicholas Pooran finished the chase with ease.

1) 75 Runs vs Lucknow Super Giants, 2024 

Finally, the inning that brought Abhishek Sharma into the spotlight was the 57th match against LSG in IPL 2024. Coming to bat first, LSG scored a modest total of 165 for 4 in 20 overs, with key contributions from Pooran and Ayush Badoni.

In response, SRH openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head were determined to dominate the LSG bowlers. The pair exploded for 167 runs in just 58 balls, winning the match in just 9.4 overs. Abhishek Sharma, who came in as an impact player, scored an explosive 75 runs off 28 balls, while Australian powerhouse Travis Head smashed 89 off 30 balls at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
