Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has shared a cryptic message on social media. In his post, the legendary cricketer drew parallels between ‘strangers’ and ‘best friends’, shortly after confirming a possible rift with former national and CSK teammate MS Dhoni.

In an explosive interview, Harbhajan recently confirmed that neither he nor Dhoni have spoken with each other in nearly a decade, even though the two cricketers played for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise together during the 2018 and 2019 editions of the IPL.

On Thursday, December 5, Harbhajan Singh took to X and shared a cryptic message about ‘best friends’ and ‘strangers’. Possibly signifying his uneven relationship with former captain MS Dhoni, the legendary Indian off-spinner wrote:

“Strangers can become best friends just as easy as best friends can become strangers.”

In an interview with News18, Harbhajan Singh confirmed that he has not spoken to MS Dhoni in many years. Even though the two cricketers were CSK colleagues in 2018 and 2019, the former Indian off-spinner revealed that they only talked on the field during IPL matches.

Harbhajan added that he is still open to a dialogue, but only if Dhoni takes the first initiative. Furthermore, the 44-year-old claimed that he is not aware why the former Indian captain has not spoken to him in such a long time.

Both Harbhajan Singh and MS Dhoni played crucial roles in India’s triumphant run at the 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa and during the 2011 ODI World Cup at home.

The last time the two cricketers shared the Indian dressing room together was back in March 2016 during an Asia Cup 2016 T20I match against UAE in Mirpur, Bangladesh. The 2011 World Cup winners were reunited at CSK ahead of IPL 2018 after the legendary off-spinner was roped in by the franchise.
