On Wednesday, December 4, ICC updated their weekly rankings. In the past week, the hype was around WTC as several full-member nations locked horns in intense red-ball games. Several players who performed benefitted heavily, while a few, like Virat Kohli, who smashed a century, suffered a slump.

Virat Kohli Suffers A Slump

Talking about the rankings, Indian players suffered a slump as Yashasvi Jaiswal dropped two places to now rank 4th. Meanwhile, Virat, who moved to 14th place after a century in Perth, has now dropped a spot to be placed 15th on the list.

Overall, Harry Brook, who smashed a century against New Zealand, has jumped to the 2nd place and now only behind his countryman Joe Root, who continues to top the ranking chart.

The highlight in the ranking was Temba Bavuma, who jumped a massive fourteen places. Notably, Bavuma, who is usually under the scanner for his place in the team, smashed 113 (228) against Sri Lanka and scored a fifty in the same match. He entered the top 10 and is now placed 10th in the ranking, five places above Virat.

Ravindra Jadeja Shines In The ICC Test Bowlers' Rankings

In the bowling section, Jasprit Bumrah continues to be the No.1 ranked Test bowler. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja jumped a place to now rank 6th in the rankings. Meanwhile, South Africa's Marco Jansen, who took 11 wickets in the first Test against Sri Lanka, jumped 19 places to rank 9th on the ranking.

Meanwhile, R Ashwin, who did not play the first Test against Australia in Perth, continues to be on 4th place. It is to be seen whether Jadeja and Ashwin will get a chance in the 2nd Test.
