Ishan Kishan is in the news for all the wrong reasons. The talented left-handed batter hasn't played for India since the T20I series Vs Australia in November 2023, and it seems as if the BCCI have decided to look beyond him when it comes to the wicket-keeping department.

He was a part of the Indian squad for the 2023 World Cup, and left the Indian camp mid-way through the South Africa tour, citing personal reasons.

Will Ishan Kishan make a comeback in IND side? Here's the answer

Kishan failed to comply with BCCI's instruction of playing in domestic competition to prove his fitness level, and as a result, he was omitted from BCCI's central contract list.

As per reports, there is still a way for Kishan to make a comeback in the Indian side. As per BCCI officials, he will only be back in the Indian team, if he plays a full domestic season. Moreover, playing only IPL to IPL, and not focusing on domestic cricket is also harming his cause.

At the moment, the likes of Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson and KL Rahul are ahead of him in the pecking order. The Indian team for the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka was announced on Thursday. While Suryakumar has been appointed as the new T20I leader, Rohit Sharma is back and will lead the ODI side, which also features Virat Kohli.
