Team India's white-ball squad for the Sri Lanka tour was announced on Thursday. Split captaincy is the way ahead as both ODI and T20I format has different captains.

While Rohit Sharma will lead the ODI squad, the selectors have sprung a surprise and have announced Suryakumar Yadav as the new T20I captain.

Barring Jasprit Bumrah, who has been rested from the squad, the T20 World Cup winning core remains the same. The only exceptions being Ravi Bishnoi and Riyan Parag, who have been awarded a place in the squad.

Another surprising decision was the appointment of Shubman Gill as the new vice-captain, which shows that the Indian side is looking at him as the future captain across formats. With the squad now officially out, let us look at the IND probable XI for the Sri Lakna T20Is.

IND's Probable T20I XI Vs SL

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill will open for India, with Rishabh Pant at number three and captain Surya at 4. Expect Hardik to nat at 5, followed by Rinku Singh and all-rounder Axar Patel at 7.

This leaves World Cup winner Shivam Dube out of the pecking order. Bishnoi will slot in as the second spinner after Axar, and Arshdeep will most likely lead the pace attack, comprising of Khaleel Ahmed and Mohammed Siraj.

IND XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill (vc), Rishabh Pant (wk), Suryakumar Yadav (c), Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, Mohammed Siraj.

The T20Is commences from July 27, and will go on till July 30. All the matches will be played at the Pallekele Cricket Stadium.
