It seems like the end of the road for Ishan Kishan in the limited-overs format. The talented batter, who hasn't played for India since November 2023, is also set to be ignored for the Sri Lanka tour.

There's hardly going to be any surprises when the India squad for the Sri Lanka will be announced on Thursday. It is widely tipped that Rohit Sharma will lead the ODI team, while Suryaakumar will be made the permanent T20I captain.

Ishan Kishan to be ignored for SL tour

However, as per the latest reports, the only major decision would be a call on Ishan Kishan. As per reports, the BCCI will select almost the same crop of players for the ODI series, who took part in the World Cup, with the only exception being the dynamic Kishan.

He will be replaced by Rishabh Pant, who, in the recent past has got the preference over other keeper-batters.

Kishan, has had a sour relationship with the BCCI, ever-since he came back from the middle of the South Africa series in December 2023. This move of his was against the will of then coach Rahul Dravid and caaptain Rohit Sharma. 

Moreover, Kishan failed to comply to BCCI's instruction of playing in domestic competitions to prove his fitness. As a result, he was not granted the central contract.
