Famously known as the 'Home Of Cricket', Lord’s Cricket Ground is easily the most talked about venue in the sport's history. 

Situated in England’s capital city, London, the crowd across this iconic stadium hosted England’s first-ever World Cup victory in 2019, in which the Eoin Morgan-led side dramatically defeated New Zealand in order to enjoy the glory.

Thomas Lord, an English professional cricketer, built a ground in May 1787. It is now called Lord’s Old Ground, as the change in plan happened soon after. Considering the ground was too far away from Oxford Street and the West End of London, Lord reconstructed the ground again in 1811, known as Lord’s Middle Ground.

Three years later, in 1814, then another ground opened nearby, which still remains famously as the Lord’s. For those who are unaware, it was a duck pond on a hill in St. John's Wood before becoming a stadium.

Lord’s has a capacity of over 30,000, and the first-ever First-Class Cricket was played here way back in July 2014. For those who don’t know, Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) owns the ground and is also home to England’s county club, Middlesex. In addition, the ICC had Lord's as their home, from 1909 to 2005.

In general, Lord’s assists seam bowlers a lot.
