Pakistan's ace batter Mohammad Rizwan enjoyed stellar success in the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Coming at number six, Rizwan compiled a valiant century, forming a scintillating stand with Saud Shakeel to steady the ship for the hosts.

Hailed for his stroke play and temperament, Rizwan showcased remarkable class to bring up his hundred. In fact, he smashed a four and a six to achieve the landmark.

The incident occurred during the 74th over of Pakistan's innings when Rizwan had already formed a magnificent partnership with Saud Shakeel for the fifth wicket.

After conceding a single run off his first four balls, Shakib bowled a flighted delivery around the middle stump line.

In a bid to up the ante, Rizwan stepped down the track and smashed the ball over the mid-on for a glorious boundary.

The shot helped him complete his third hundred in Test cricket. Earlier, he dispatched one of Shakib's delivery over the cow corner fence for a monstrous six.

Thus, he took only three balls to reach the three-figure mark, attaining the milestone with two boundaries.

Pakistan claim driving seat in Rawalpindi Test vs Bangladesh

After being put into bat first, Pakistan had a torrid start to their innings, with the Bangladesh pacers quickly dismissing Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood and Babar Azam.

However, Saud Shakeel played a pivotal role in stabilising their innings, forming vital stands alongside Saim Ayub and Rizwan.
