Rohit Sharma Stand inauguration ceremony has been rescheduled to a new date by the MCA. Cricket Ireland has named Ireland’s squad for the white-ball series against West Indies. In other news, the next ILT20 season has been brought up by a couple of months by the ECB.

Dewald Brevis And Co. To Re-Join CSK, Rachin On Hold

Dewald Brevis, Matheesha Pathirana and Sam Curran among other overseas players are all set to re-join the CSK franchise for the remainder of the IPL 2025 season. While English all-rounder Jamie Overton is the only overseas cricketer to have opted out since IPL’s suspension, the CSK franchise is still awaiting an official response from New Zealand batting all-rounder Rachin Ravindra.

Upon IPL 2025 resumption later this week, the MS Dhoni-led CSK group will face Rajasthan Royals in match 62 on Tuesday, May 20 in Delhi.

Stirling To Lead As Ireland Name Squad For WI Series

Cricket Ireland has announced Ireland’s 14-player squads for the upcoming home series against West Indies. Under the leadership of white-ball veteran Paul Stirling, Ireland will host West Indies in a series of three ODIs and three T20I matches between May 21 and June 15. While the ODIs will be played at the Castle Avenue in Clontarf, the T20I series will be hosted by the Bready Cricket Club Ground in Bready.

New Date Announced For Rohit Sharma Stand Inauguration

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has announced a new date for the inauguration ceremony for the ‘Rohit Sharma Stand’ at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Originally, the ceremony was scheduled to take place on May 13. However, BCCI’s suspension of the IPL 2025 season amid India’s cross-border tensions with Pakistan prompted the MCA to reschedule the inauguration to Friday, May 16.

Earlier this month, captain Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from Test cricket to bring an end to his 67-match career.

ILT20 2026 Brought Up To Avoid Clash With T20 WC

The 2026 edition of ILT20 has been brought up by a couple of months by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB). While ILT20 seasons are ideally organized in a January-February window, the next season will launch from December 2 onwards later this year and will run until January 4.

ILT20 chief executive David White confirmed that the move was initiated in a bid to end the fourth edition of the tournament well in advance before the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, thus allowing competing players to receive enough time for preparations for national duties.

DC Rope In Mustafizur As Fraser-McGurk’s Replacement

The Delhi Capitals franchise has roped in seasoned Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman as a replacement for firebrand Australian batter Jake Fraser-McGurk. Since McGurk will not be returning to India for the remaining IPL 2025 matches, Rahman is expected to fill in the squad once the tournament resumes later this week.

Mustafizur last played an IPL match back in 2024 for the CSK franchise. The speedster was also previously a part of the Delhi Capitals setup back in 2022 and 2023.
