Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings have been handed blows ahead of resumption of IPL 2025. Jofra Archer, the English pacer has injured himself again and thus he would not join RR, while Sam Curran has decided to no return back to India with his team CSK already out of the playoffs race. The confirmation of the news is though a report of Cricbuzz.
Suspense Over Availability Of Phil Salt For RCB
The report states that other English players like Jos Buttler, Jacob Bethell, Will Jacks and Liam Livingstone are returning back to India. However, they are likely to miss the playoff stage due to national commitments. However, there is still uncertainty over the availability of RCB opener, Phil Salt.
As far as Jofra Archer is concerned, the pacer would have been available for the last two games, but got injured. It has forced him to not take any further part in the tournament according to what a RR official told Cricbuzz. There is no clarity whether RR would opt for a temporary replacement for RR or not, but it has been confirmed that CSK are not looking for any replacement.
"It is not a case of not being willing because we are out of reckoning for playoffs. He is nurturing an injury and we are prioritizing his fitness."
The IPL 2025 was suspended on May 9 for a week due to tensions between India and Pakistan. The ceasefire between the two countries, eased down the tensions and now the IPL is all set to resume on May 17 with final postponed to June 3.
