Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi among others assembled for the PSL 2025 captains’ conference on Thursday, April 10. Just a day prior to the launch of the PSL 2025 season, the six cricketers even posed with the trophy, as shared by the official social media platforms of PSL.
Notably, Karachi Kings captain and former Australian opener David Warner opted out of the conference, prompting his deputy Hasan Ali to step up and attend the ceremony instead.

PSL 2025 captains Shaheen Afridi (Lahore Qalandars), Shadab Khan (Islamabad United), Saud Shakeel (Quetta Gladiators), Mohammad Rizwan (Multan Sultans) and Babar Azam (Peshawar Zalmi) attended the captains’ conference on Thursday, April 10. Notably, Hasan Ali also turned up at the ceremony as the vice-captain of the Karachi Kings franchise, considering regular captain David Warner ruled himself out to attend his team’s intra-squad match.
The five captains, and the vice-captain, all assembled for a star-studded picture with the coveted PSL silverware, a “radiant Luminara Trophy” as described in their social media post.
The PSL 2025 season is set to launch on Friday, April 11 with a match between Lahore Qalandars and defending champions Islamabad United. The match will be hosted by the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.

The PSL 2025 season marks the tenth edition of the tournament. Commencing on April 11, the season will conclude on May 18 next month. As many as six teams are participating in the competition, with each team slated to face each other twice in a double round-robin format before the playoffs and the final.
