The much-anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) X is all set to begin on April 11, with defending champions Islamabad United taking on Lahore Qalandars in an exciting opening match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The tournament will be played from April 11 to May 18, and will feature 34 encounters.
PSL 2025 Set To Kick Off On April 11
The league’s matches will be spread across Rawalpindi, Karachi, Multan, and Lahore, with the final set to take place at Gaddafi Stadium on May 18. It is important to note that Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host 13 matches which include two Eliminators and the final game. Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will host 11 matches, while Karachi’s National Bank Stadium and Multan Cricket Stadium will each host five matches.
Peshawar Zalmi will play five of their matches at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Meanwhile, Quetta Gladiators will have five fixtures scheduled at the Gaddafi Stadium.
It is important to note that Karachi Kings will commence their campaign on April 12 at home, facing last season’s runners-up, Multan Sultans.
Mohammad Rizwan's Multan Sultans will host their first match of the much-awaited tournament at the Multan Cricket Stadium on April 22, where they will take on Lahore Qalandars. The newly reconstructed Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will open its doors for the tournament on April 24, with home side Lahore Qalandars facing Peshawar Zalmi.
Will PSL 2025 Clash With IPL 2025?
Yes, the upcoming tenth edition of the PSL is set to run parallel to the IPL 2025. Traditionally, the PSL has been held earlier in the year to avoid a direct clash with the IPL. However, for the first time, the two tournaments will run parallel.
The IPL 2025 is scheduled to commence on March 22 and conclude on May 25, while the PSL will take place during the same window, with its final set to be played one week before the IPL final.
