The much-anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) X is all set to kick off on April 11, with defending champions Islamabad United taking on Lahore Qalandars in the opening match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The tournament, which will run from April 11 to May 18, will feature a total of 34 thrilling matches. 

PSL 2025 will see the participation of six franchises: Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Karachi Kings, and Multan Sultans. The competition will be held across four cities-Karachi, Multan, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.

In a significant change for PSL, the tournament has shifted to a new window alongside the IPL. This adjustment has opened up opportunities for international stars who do not have IPL contracts. 

Babar Azam To Lead Peshawar Zalmi

While most teams have retained their captains from the previous season, there have been a couple of changes. Quetta Gladiators have appointed Saud Shakeel as their new captain, replacing Rilee Rossouw, while Karachi Kings have handed the captaincy to David Warner. 

For Islamabad United, Shadab Khan will continue with his captaincy, and for Lahore Qalandars Shaheen Shah Afridi will lead the team. Pakistan's star player Babar Azam will lead Peshawar Zalmi this year as well. For Multan Sultans, Mohammad Rizwan has been given the captaincy for PSL 2025.
