Pakistan Under-19 demolished arch-rivals India in the final of the 2025 Under-19 Asia Cup in Dubai. Defending 348 runs after Sameer Minhas’ electrifying 172-run knock, Pakistan Under-19 bowlers Mohammad Sayyam, Abdul Subhan and Huzaifa Ahsan enveloped India’s star-studded line-up for just 156 to secure a comprehensive 191-run win.
With Pakistan Under-19 team lifting only its second-ever Under-19 Asia Cup title, that too, by defeating India at the height of their severing geo-political ties, country’s prime minister Shahbaz Sharif has now announced a special cash reward for the young ‘Men in Green’ brigade.
Windfall for Pakistan’s Teen Titans after Asia Cup triumph
On Monday, December 22, Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif announced a special cash reward of 10 million Pakistani rupees (close to 32 lakhs in INR) for each member of Pakistan’s Under-19 2025 Asia Cup group.
Sharif confirmed the same while organising a special reception for the Pakistan Under-19 players and support staff members in Islamabad.
Former Pakistan captain and active Under-19 mentor Sarfaraz Ahmed also informed the media that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced a huge cash reward for the Asia Cup-winning brigade.
Apart from Shahbaz Sharif, fellow Pakistani politician and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also praised the Pakistan Under-19 players for their historic outcome over arch-rivals India at the 2025 Under-19 Asia Cup final. Naqvi himself announced a cash prize of PKR 5 million each for the victorious junior players.
Celebrating Pakistan’s Under-19 Asia Cup win, several Pakistan fans gathered at the airport to organise a celebratory reception for the incoming Pakistan Under-19 players.
With a rare Asia Cup title in the bag, the Pakistan Under-19 team will now travel to Zimbabwe for a tri-series, which itself will be followed by next month’s 2026 ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup. They are placed in Group B alongside England, Scotland and tournament co-hosts Zimbabwe.
