India clinched a resounding victory over England in the fifth and final Test match held at Dharamsala, triumphing by an innings and 64 runs.

Despite initial uncertainties following the first match, where doubts lingered over India's ability to dominate the English side, the subsequent four Test matches showcased India's unwavering determination and resilience.

The spotlight in the fifth and final Test match fell squarely on Ravichandran Ashwin, as he marked his 100th Test appearance with a stellar performance, solidifying his status as one of India's most revered spin bowlers.

In a display of mastery, Ashwin clinched a five-wicket haul in the second innings, further adding to his already illustrious career. Not only did he celebrate this milestone match, but Ashwin also etched his name in cricketing history by equaling the esteemed record held by Virat Kohli, having been a pivotal part of 59 victories with the national team.

With a total of 516 wickets from 189 innings, Ashwin's bowling prowess shines through, in his impressive 36 five-wicket hauls achieved at an average of 23.75 and an economy rate of 2.81.

Not just with the ball, but Ashwin has also been a stalwart in the lower middle order with the bat, contributing significantly to the team's cause. His tally of 3309 runs, earned at an average of 26.26, underscores his value as a genuine all-rounder.

Where will the Indian Team head to after the fifth test?

With international commitments momentarily on hold, players can breathe a sigh of relief as they are granted a hiatus from national duty until the selection committee solidifies the arsenal for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2024. However, fans need not fret, as they can still catch their favorite cricketers in action during the highly anticipated 17th edition of the Indian Premier League, set to commence on March 22nd.
