Axar Patel is shining for India with the bat and with the ball as the left-arm spinner got the much-needed wicket of Tristan Stubbs in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 final.

India, batting first, put 176 runs on the board, courtesy of a fifty-plus score from Virat Kohli. Meanwhile, Patel also stole the limelight as he scored 47 (31), which featured one four and four sixes.

Even during the chase, Patel delivered when India needed him the most. Notably, South Africa lost two early wickets, but Quinton de Kock and Tristan Stubbs stitched an important 58-run stand when Patel got rid of Stubbs.

On the 5th ball of the 9th over, Stubbs shuffled across the wicket to hit Patel down the leg-side but missed the delivery and got clean-bowled.

After the wicket, Quinton de Kock turned his face away in disbelief. At the time of writing this article, South Africa are 90/3 after 10.4 overs.  Notably, Axar came to the tournament as an understudy to Ravindra Jadeja, but as the tournament progressed, he actually performed better than the CSK star.
