The much-awaited final between India and South Africa is underway at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. The Men in Blue won the toss and elected to bat first. The decision backfired for Rohit Sharma and his men as India lost three early wickets.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli got off to a great start as they collected 23 runs off the first nine balls. Things turned sour for the Men in Blue as Keshav Maharaj took two wickets in his first over to put India in trouble.

Rohit Sharma was the first one to go after he tried to sweep Maharaj. Sharma had hit the left-arm spinner for two consecutive fours, and similar to the 2023 World Cup final, he tried to collect more runs from the over which is when he went for a sweep but found Heinrich Klaasen, who took a good catch standing at backward square leg.
