'We'll Connect...' Dravid Breaks Silence On Virat Kohli's Availability For ENG Series

After a thumping win over the Englishmen in Vizag, Indian head coach Rahul Dravid addressed a press conference and shared the latest update on star batter Virat Kohli's availability for the rest of the Test series against England. 

Indian cricketing maverick Virat Kohli has been missing in action for several weeks now. He last featured in the T20 series against Afghanistan. 

BCCI to have a discussion with Virat Kohli

Furthermore, just days ahead of Hyderabad Test,  Kohli dropped a bombshell when he conveyed his decision to opt out of the initial two Tests against England to Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and BCCI.

Meanwhile, the BCCI put out a statement and backed the former captain wholeheartedly. They even urged the fans to protect Kohli's privacy and refrain from speculations.

However, as the second test concluded earlier today, fans are still puzzled over Virat Kohli's availability for the rest of the test series. As rumors over Kohli potentially skipping the entire red ball series gained momentum, head coach Rahul Dravid dropped a major update during a post-match press meet in Vizag.

Dravid suggested he had minimal information about Virat Kohli's whereabouts. He said the team management will reach out to him in a few days and discuss his availability for the rest of the three games left in the five-game series. 

But as of today, the team has no information about Kohli's future whatsoever. The board has allowed Virat to call the shots in this situation. They don't intend to pressure Kohli into returning to the national side.

Having said that, the rumors mill is working extra time to churn out all sorts of speculations. Some reports suggest that the batter is abroad, spending time with his family. 

On the other hand, AB de Villiers, Kohli's former RCB teammate, and close friend, revealed that Virat is expecting his second child with his wife Anushka Sharma, and the couple is spending some time together.

But overall, there is no clarity on the reasons behind Virat Kohli's prolonged absence.
