Virat Kohli Out Abroad? Uncertainty Around Batter Looms Large Amidst IND-ENG Tests

Virat Kohli mysteriously opted himself out of the first two Tests against England, just a couple of days prior to the commencement of the series opener at Hyderabad. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) subsequently released a media statement that Kohli had spoken about his break with Indian captain Rohit Sharma and the cricketer would be requiring complete privacy until his return.

While reports emerged that the Indian batting legend took his break to attend his ailing mother Saroj, the news were soon shrugged off by the cricketer’s elder brother, Vikas Kohli.

As it turned out, Virat Kohli might well be outside India at the moment, at least if recent reports are to be believed. Even though the cricketer was due to make his comeback into the Indian team in time for the third Test, the uncertainty around his possible return continues to loom large with each passing day.

Virat Kohli possibly out abroad amidst home Tests

According to a report from Cricbuzz, Virat Kohli is currently out of India and it is still unclear if he would be returning back to the team in time for the third Test. The third match of the series is set to commence at Rajkot from February 15 onwards, i.e., nine days after the conclusion of the Vizag Test.

Moreover, it is confirmed by Virat Kohli's former RCB teammate and his closest friend, AB de Villiers, the Indian cricketer and Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child.

As it turned out, despite their key absences, Team India took firm control over the visiting Englishmen by stumps on Day 2. After amassing 396 in the first innings off the back of Yashasvi Jaiswal’s career-best 209, seasoned speedster Jasprit Bumrah seized six wickets to keep the visitors down by 143 runs at the halfway stage of the game.
