Virat Kohli, the stalwart of the Indian cricket team, has stirred speculation by opting out of the first two Test matches against England, citing 'personal reasons'. With uncertainty looming over his return for the remainder of the series, concerns have escalated among cricket enthusiasts.

According to a report by Times Of India, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) remains in the dark regarding Virat Kohli's potential comeback. Some reports suggest, that Kohli missed out on the games because of his mother's health troubles.

“We haven't heard anything from him on his return as yet,” an unrevealed source of BCCI official told TOI.

In addition to Kohli's absence, India faces further setbacks with the sidelining of KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja. Rahul's thigh injury incurred during the initial Test match and Jadeja's hamstring setback have dealt a blow to India's lineup, leaving the team grappling with challenges ahead of the upcoming encounters.

While Rahul may stage a return later in the series, Jadeja's injury appears more severe, casting doubts on his availability for the ensuing matches. The absence of key players poses a formidable test for India as they strive to maintain their dominance on the field against a formidable English side.

According to reports by India Today, the national selection panel gears up to convene on January 30 to deliberate on the squad composition for the remaining three Tests against England. With India trailing 0-1 in the series following a narrow defeat in Hyderabad, the stakes are high for the home team, led by Rohit Sharma, to stage a comeback after England’s dramatic triumph at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
