BCCI secretary Jay Shah has shown huge confidence in India's match-winning ability, backing the visitors to give Australia a run for their money in the upcoming high-voltage Test series. Under Rohit Sharma's leadership, India will face Australia in a five-match Test series Down Under in November-December this year.

'Our team is well prepared for BGT' - Jay Shah

Meanwhile, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has opened up on Team India's preparations ahead of the much-anticipated series.

Speaking to The Times of India, Shah reckoned the experienced Indian team would perform exceedingly well against the mighty Aussies in their backyard.

He also expected ace speedster Mohammed Shami to regain match fitness before the series. For the unversed, Shami has started practising in the nets after recovering from an ankle injury.

Shah also highlighted the importance of Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for the visiting side.

"Our team is well prepared. We have rested Jasprit Bumrah for a while. Mohammed Shami is expected to be fit too. This is an experienced side now. Seniors like Rohit and Kohli are fit,” Jay Shah said.

After incurring a two-nil ODI series defeat against Sri Lanka, India are gearing up for a home Test series against Bangladesh.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy will commence on November 22, with the first Test in Perth. After that, the caravan will shift to Adelaide and Brisbane before the Boxing Day Test and Pink Test get underway in Melbourne and Sydney, respectively.
