On the occasion of India's 78th Independence Day, the BCCI secretary opened up on several topics surrounding the Indian cricket board, such as the new NCA, upcoming seasons of IPL, WPL, and the Bangladesh series starting from September 19.

Speaking with Times of India, Jay Shah was also asked about the lack of day-night Test games in Indian cricket, as the pink ball cricket was once touted as the new revolution in the longest format of the game.

It is worth noting that India played their first Day-Night game in November 2019, when it hosted Bangladesh at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Since then, the Rohit Sharma-led side have featured in just three such games and the last was held over the last two years.

When asked about the same, Shah stated that it makes him slightly emotional as the pink ball games end in two to three days and there are no refunds for the fans.

“You buy a ticket for a five-day match, but the game ends in 2-3 days…There is no refund. I am slightly emotional about this,” Shah said to the Times of India.

Australia To Host India In A Day-Night Game

India will tour to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in November, where they will feature in a day-night Test in the second Test. It will be held in the first week of December at the Adelaide Oval.
