After recovering from injury, India's ace pacer Mohammed Shami has been quite active in the nets as he aims to make his international comeback in the upcoming home season. Notably, Shami, who received the prestigious Arjuna Award for his commendable performance in the 2023 World Cup, picked up a serious ankle injury, ruling him out of competitive cricket. 

However, soon after completing his rehabilitation, Shami resumed his training in a bid to mark his international return.

Meanwhile, Shami has grabbed the attention for an interesting reason, with a rare video of his batting practice going viral on social media. 

This evening, the veteran pacer shared footage of him doing the hard yards in the nets, albeit as a batter. 

As the throw-down specialist tests him with a few turning deliveries, the seamer can be seen charging down the track and hitting him for fun. 

His audacious spin-hitting video comes a day after the Indian batters surrendered to Sri Lanka's rampant spin unit. 

Led by Rohit Sharma, India faltered during a 249-run chase on Wednesday. They were bowled out for a paltry 138 runs, losing the match by 110 runs. 

Regarding Shami, the bowler is expected to make his comeback for the Bangladesh Tests if he gets match-fit in time.
