Sarfaraz Khan's younger brother, Musheer Khan and his father, Naushad Khan were involved in a horrific car accident on Saturday, September 28. The incident took place at the outskirts of Lucknow, when the father-son duo were travelling to Lucknow for the Irani Cup match.

Unfortunately, their car hit the divider and overturned on the Purvanchal Expressway, and both Musheer and his father suffered injuries. While Naushad Khan suffered only minor scratches, Musheer had a neck fracture and was admitted in the Medanta Hospital in Lucknow.

Musheer survived horrific accident

According to the eye-witnesses, the SUV in which they were travelling collided with a median and overturned, but fortunately, the help arrived on time as Musheer survived a major accident.

The talented batter was supposed to travel with the Mumbai squad for the Irani Cup, but on the request of his father, Musheer was allowed to travel with him for training purposes.

After getting released from the hospital, Musheer, and his father spoke to the media and the batter gave his first reaction after the horrific event.

“I want to thank God for giving me a new life. I am fine now. My father and I are fine. I thank God for your prayers” said Musheer, as quoted by Sports Tak.

Musheer eyed India debut through Irani and Ranji Trophy performances

Musheer was a part of the Mumbai squad for the Irani Cup, but now the batter will miss 16 weeks of cricket, meaning that he won't be able to take part in the Ranji Trophy as well. Mumbai team haven't named a replacement as of yet.

His elder brother, Sarfaraz is already a part of the India Test team, and Musheer was also eyeing a spot in the national side. He had a terrific Duleep Trophy campaign, and the selectors were keeping a close tab on him before the disaster struck on Saturday.
