The former Head Coach of India, Rahul Dravid, ended his stint with the national team after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. After that, 'The Wall' was named the head coach of the IPL Franchise - Rajasthan Royals. 

Rahul Dravid has previously shown a knack for working with and developing young players. With a mega auction scheduled ahead of IPL 2025, he is expected to plan extensively and develop strategies. Here are three players that Rahul Dravid might target for the Rajasthan Royals during the mega auction.

This young Indian batter plays for the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL. However, there is a chance that LSG might release Badoni. If he is released, Rahul Dravid might look to snap him up for RR during the mega auction.

In the recently concluded Delhi Premier League, Ayush Badoni was in brilliant form. He scored 522 runs in nine matches at a strike rate of 225. Badoni's presence in the RR line-up will provide them with dynamism and flexibility in the middle order. Besides, Badoni is known for delivering in pressure situations, which will help RR in big matches. 

2. Manoj Bhandage

This young Indian all-rounder has been with RCB for the last two seasons. However, Bhandage did not make his debut for the Royal Challengers, so the chances are high that he is not a big part of their plan and will be released from the mega auction. 

Why Rahul Dravid should target Manoj Bhandage?

In the Maharaja Trophy 2024, Manoj Bhandage showed his potential as an all-rounder. Bhandage scored 292 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 213.13 and picked up nine wickets with the ball. His arrival in the team will allow Dravid to have an all-rounder who can provide his team with power-packed finishes. Besides, Bhandage can also lessen the captain's headaches with a couple of effective overs.

Priyansh Arya has not yet been a part of the Indian Premier League. However, after his exploits in DPL 2024, he is expected to register for the auction, and many of the teams will have an eye on him. 

Why Rahul Dravid should target Priyansh Arya?

The left-handed batter scored 608 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 198.69, which shows that he was not only bashing the bowlers but also doing it consistently. If the Royals release Buttler, they will look for a dashing opening partner for Yashasvi Jaiswal. Priyanshi Arya, with his reputation, can be the ideal fit for the role.
