The fifth and final ODI between Australia and England is underway at the Seat Unique Stadium In Bristol. The hosts, batting first, have got off to a flyer as they put 217 runs on the board after just 28 overs. Although, half of the side has returned to the pavilion. 

Ben Duckett stole the limelight as the southpaw smashed a brilliant century. Duckett scored 100 off 86 balls which featured 13 fours and a solitary six. He brought up his century on the 2nd ball of the 32nd over when he guided a Glenn Maxwell delivery towards the covers to run a single and complete his milestone. 

Duckett celebrated the century in style by throwing a punch in the air. It is a special century as Ben performed for the Three Lions in the crucial series decider game as the series is levelled at 2-2. Australia won the first two matches, but England gave a perfect counter punch and won two games in a Trott and Duckett had a huge role in it. 


Ben Duckett Century: A Series To Remember For The Southpaw

Talking about the ongoing series, Ben missed out on a century in the first ODI when he got out scoring 95 (91). Besides that, he also scored a fifty-plus score in the fourth ODI. The southpaw is in fine-touch as he has amassed 305 runs in five matches in this series and averages 61.

Eventually, Travis Head got rid of the dangerous man as he scored 107 (91) before returning to the pavilion. 

Ben Duckett Becomes England's Top-Scorer in 2024

Duckett's brilliant century saw him script several milestones as he completed 1000 international runs in 2024 and went past Joe Root to become England's leading run-getter in 2024. 

Duckett now has 1002 runs in 2024 and went past Root who has 986 runs. It is also worth noting that Duckett surpassed Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma in this elite list. He is the fifth leading run-getter in this year.
