Former BCCI secretary Jay Shah has thanked his well-wishers for their kind words following his appointment as the International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman. 

Renowned for his incredible administrative prowess, Shah was unanimously elected as the ICC chief, with 15 cricketing bodies voting in his favour. 

After he was elected ICC chairman, Shah received congratulatory messages from his well-wishers. 

Numerous Indian cricket stars, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Yuzvendra Chahal, congratulated him and wished him luck in his new administrative stint. 

Shah was overwhelmed by the good wishes, as he took to his official handle on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to thank them. 

He reckoned how their unwavering support has inspired him to do his best in his field. 

"I’m truly touched by all the kind wishes. Your support has always been my source of inspiration, making this journey - of building new connections, nurturing talent and celebrating our diversity - ever so meaningful. Thank you," Jay Shah tweeted. 

Jay Shah's ICC tenure beneficial for BCCI?

As Jay Shah was the BCCI secretary, his appointment is expected to elevate the BCCI's stature among the cricketing fraternity. So, India will likely get massive benefits, including financial boosts, during his tenure as the ICC chief. 

Regarding India, the Men in Blue will take on Bangladesh in a two-match Test series in September.
