Match 7 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 between Netherlands and Nepal became one of the highlights of the competition.

Hosted in Dallas at the Grand Prairie Stadium, cricket fans from Nepal arrived in hordes to support their side, which even caught Netherlands' Logan van Beek by surprise.

Logan van Beek, along with Tim Pringle, made Nepal batters' life in the middle a mess, given both accounted for six wickets between them, as the Asian nation bundled out 106.

Speaking to official broadcasters, van Beek first lauded the support for Nepal and then expressed satisfaction over his and Netherland's overall performance in the field.

The bowling all-rounder further displayed his faith in the Dutch top-order to get their first win of the marquee tournament.

I have to say the fans of Nepal were amazing - Logan van Beek

"First of all, I have to say the fans of Nepal were amazing. I'm not sure whether we are in Dallas or somewhere else. Nice return for me and glad to get the tournament started. At the start, there was swing with the rain around, but as the innings went forward, we bowled back of a length and kept it straight. Very proud of our fielding, the boys have been superb all through the week we've been here. I think the top-order will get us the job done and I don't need to put my pads on."

For Nepal, skipper Rohit Paudel top-scored with 35, which included five fours, with the second-best run-getter being bowler Karan KC.

Interestingly, this was also the second-lowest T20I score registered against the Netherlands in a T20 World Cup encounter, with England's 88 all-out in the 2014 edition leading the way.
