Nepal witnessed an electrifying atmosphere earlier today as a massive crowd gathered to watch the T20 World Cup screening as Nepal squared up with the Netherlands at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

The T20 World Cup 2024 fever is on, as 20 nations will be fighting tooth and nail for the next 4 weeks to claim the ultimate title.

Earlier today, Nepal took on the Netherlands at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas for a Group D league stage game. Netherland's Scott Edwards won the toss and elected to field first in the rain hit game.

That being said, as the Nepal openers stepped out to bat first, the crowd back home was completely ecstatic. Nepal's cricket fever is not new, as the sport has seen a significant rise in popularity over the past decade.

Hence, ahead of the mega ICC event, public screenings were set up in open spaces in the capital city of Kathmandu, attracting thousands of supporters eager to cheer for their teams. The excitement was palpable as fans, as well as political leaders, donned the Nepal team's jerseys to shower support for the team.

A drone image surfaced on the internet earlier today which saw a large sea of crowd turning up for a screening in an open ground. The organisers had set up a large projector screen as a large number of people attended the venue absolutely free of cost to support Nepal on the biggest stage.

However, Nepal failed to repay the fans' trust as they witnessed an embarrassing and unwarranted collapse in the first innings. Besides captain Rohit Paudel, over 5 top order batters were dismissed on single digit scores as Nepal were bundled up at 106 runs.
