Rain has decided to return to Barbados' Kennington Oval on Wednesday during the England and Scotland clash in the league stage of the T20 World Cup 2024 after the latter's batting innings ended at 90/0 in 10 overs.

Eventually, the match got called off, with both sides bagging one point each out of the contest. With this, England's infamous record of not beating any European nation in a T20 World Cup stays entangled with the Three Lions.

The match was interrupted three times—the first time after the coin flip, then between Scotland's innings, and finally after the first innings, which led to the game being called off in Barbados.

Earlier in the day, the Scottish openers, George Munsey (41) and Michael Jones (45) remained unbeaten throughout the innings as they went behind the defending champions, especially Chris Jordan and the number-one-ranked bowler, Adil Rashid.

The Jos Buttler-led side will now face Australia in their next T20 World Cup 2024 match at the same venue on Saturday. On the other hand, Scotland will play Namibia on Friday at the Kennington Oval.
