'No Official Complaint From India': MCC CEO Clears Air On Kohli Heckling Controversy

The ongoing Melbourne Test has ignited the iconic India-Australia rivalry with fairy on-field moments. Virat Kohli, known for his aggression had a heated moment with debutant Sam Konstas and the Australian crowd didn’t take it positively and booed back the Indian great.

 After Kohli's dismissal on day 2, the Australian crowd booed him and the moment grabbed the attention. As the moment was stirring up the controversy, Melbourne Cricket Club CEO Stuart Fox confirmed that there is no official complaint lodged from BCCI.

The Australian Crowd Booed King Kohli

As the cricket world is witnessing the iconic Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the big stage has heated up with some on-field fiery moments. The spotlight turned to Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas after a heated shoulder between these two. The incident became a hot topic and ICC imposed a fine on Kohli.

After a heated moment took place on day 1, the Australian crowd roared back while having the back of the Aussie debutant. After Virat Kohli walked away to the pavilion after getting out on 36 runs, a group of Australian crowd booed him harshly. Kohli was seen turning back to the crowd but ended up going to the dressing room.

Stuart Fox’s Clears Out The Incident

As the fiery moment was stirring up controversy, the Indian fans were fuming about this incident. But the Melbourne Cricket Club CEO, Stuart Fox stated that BCCI had not complained about the whole incident.

“You're never comfortable when you've got fans heavily engaging with the player. As the operator, you are just always watching. I went and looked at the vision last night. I have been talking to security this morning. There has been no official complaint from India, they are comfortable.” Fox said.

“I think a bit of heckling happened late and Kohli popped his head back. I'll be concerned if it was abusive and (there is) any physical contact or abuse that is pushing the boundary. That's where we are always making sure everyone is well-behaved.” he added.

After facing early setbacks on day 2, the Indian batters fought back hard. After Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant raised alarms, Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy forged a crucial partnership to keep India in the hunt. Sundar scored an exceptional half-century before walking back and Reddy remained unbeaten at the end of day 3 after scoring his maiden Test ton.
