'Junior Pacers Did Better,' Ex-Pakistan Captain's Dig At Shaheen Following Test Defeat

Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt has slammed the senior pacers following the hosts' shambolic Test defeat against Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

On Sunday, Pakistan had a torrid outing on the field, as they were swatted aside by the Tigers in the high-voltage series opener.

Following Pakistan's abysmal performance in the Test, Salman Butt criticised their planning, highlighting the tactical shortcomings.

"Where should I start? Playing four fast bowlers, the declaration, the line and length, everything went wrong," Butt said on his YouTube channel.

Furthermore, the stylish southpaw compared the average speeds of pacers from both sides, praising the Bangladesh seamers for maintaining a higher fitness level than their Pakistani counterparts.

He also took a dig at the senior Pakistani pacers, reckoning how they were outclassed by the new-comers.

"I think this is the first time that the average speed of Bangladesh bowlers was higher than ours. They looked more fit than us. Our junior fast bowlers did better than our senior ones. So, there is a list of mistakes made by the team. Where should we start? Who should we pick and blame because the list goes on," he added.

Pakistan to play do-or-die 2nd Test at Rawalpindi

After losing the first Test against all odds, Pakistan will face Bangladesh in the decider at the same venue between August 30 and September 3. This will be a do-or-die clash for Shan Masood and co, as they will lose the series if they don't win this game.
